Is there anything I can take when I am 34 weeks pregnant and I have a runny nose!

Question: Is there anything I can take when I am 34 weeks pregnant and I have a runny nose, cough, and sore throat?
I just woke up with this Monday morning or tuesday I am not sure. I called the doctor and they have to call me back to let me know if they need me to come in or not. I feel horrible like I just got run over by a Mac truck and they are still running over me. I am hlowing my nose ever 5 minutes and coughing up a lung while my nose is running.

Answers:

You could get some saline nose spray or saline irrigation system or a neti-pot which will help with the sinus problem. You can take tylenol for your sore throat which is allowing during a pregnancy. You need to wait and ask your doctor which cough medication will be safe for the baby. This is going to have to run it's course, there is nothing that will make these symptoms go away completely until your body has healed itself. Lots of water, rest.

Vicks, Tylenol, PLAIN Robitussin.

The problem I have here with you asking online is that there are mannny different kinds of robitussin and cough and cold medication. You really need to talk to a Pharmacist or Doctor to get the specific ones you can have. For example, you make pick up a Robitussin Cough and Cold, but it may have Phenylephrine in it (just an example). You wouldn't know you need to avoid that, and the name sounded just fine.

I really think you need to call a professional (pharmacist) and ask. They will know right off the top of their head.
