How to soothe RAW, ITCHY, vagina?!

Question: How to soothe RAW, ITCHY, vagina?
I am being treated with ciprofloxoacin and today my itching has been terrible, and i have scratched sooo much i am just PURE RAW. I couldn't help the itching, I mean I really could not I HAD to scratch or I was going to go crazy, so I used a dry towel which felt wonderful, now im paying the price, it hurts like crazy when i pee, so bad i have to stop in the middle and keep going. What will soothe this?? vaseline or something?

Answers:

Call your doctor as you may be allergic to the ciprofloxoacin. There are other meds you can get. Take a cool shower and if you can stand it dilute some apple cider vinegar with water (3 parts water, 1 part vinegar) and wash the external area with it. It helps kill the bad bacteria. Pat try and place vaseline on the external portion. Wash after each bathroom use with plain water (you can carry a water bottle with a squirt top) and reapply vaseline. It adds a layer of protection.

PS. While you're peeing you can do what some postpartum patients do and squirt the water on your vagina while you are peeing. It helps a lot so the acid it washed away faster.

Feel better soon!

EDIT: Please do not place melted butter on your vagina as the previous post states. Also, do not use Vagisil if you're on a medication already...It usually will do more harm then good either way. Another thing you should do is eat some plain yogurt to replace some "good" bacteria and prevent further infection. This will sound odd but placing plain yogurt there will also soothe the area. Just rinse off and then apply vaseline.

Try Vagisil. It's meant for itchy vaginas.

I see it on T.V.

Heat up some butter in the microwave, then apply gently.

Family cure for genitals.
