i was bitten by a dog that is vaccinated for rabies. what are my chances of gett!

Question: I was bitten by a dog that is vaccinated for rabies. what are my chances of getting rabies.?
this dog(pit bull) was acting normal just walking around the house of the people i work for. I was in the back yard alone and all of a sudden the dog came around to the back where i was alone and just walked up growling. Then i took a couple of steps back and thats when it started jumping up towards my throat it only nicked my arm but still drew a little blood. it lasted only about 10-15 seconds and then ran to the front of the house. the owner said the dog had has its rabies vaccine every two years. i'm just freaked out a little. any advice?

Answers:

Aw. Calm down. The dog was probably protecting its house, it wasn't personal or rabid. I'm glad that he just got your arm.
Ask to see veterinary proof that the dog is vaccinated, just in case the owner was lying. If you know for sure that the owner wasn't lying, then...
Don't freak out. You will not get rabies from this vaccinated dog.
If you don't believe me, go to the ER or your doctor and check
Make sure the wound on your arm doesn't get infected. If it is still seeping after 7 days or emits puss or turns funny colors (not a bruise) you should go see your doctor.
Get a tetanus shot. It will make your other arm/butt muscle hurt for a day or so, but that will kill any other harmful bacteria in your arm and protect you for 4ish years

I use google, but I got bitten by a dog a few years ago. It wasn't vaccinated, and it didn't look rabid, but my mom made me get a tetanus shot anyway

its okay dogs are usually this way you know like guarding their homes. if it has been vaccinated you are okay. NO RABIES
