What are the chances that I got HIV/AIDS?!

Question: What are the chances that I got HIV/AIDS?
Ok, I just got back from school camp. At the camp, me and my friends had energy drinks, then we heard the teachers coming. My friend opened up the used tampon bin next to the toilet and took the plastic bag that held the tampons out. He washed the bin. We then put our drinks in the bin.
Later that night, I got a drink from the bin and drank it. Im afraid that there could have been some form of HIV/AIDS infected blood that found its way onto the part that I drank from. I also had some ulcers in my mouth that i bit the night before and they bled. and I think the wounds still might have been open when I drank.

From my recollection none of the tampons were wet. I forgot to mention that we didnt wash the top of the tampon bin. Could I have got HIV/AIDS from this? Could you also tell me if i could have got hepatitis from it aswell?

Answers:

Okay, some of the answers here are totally incorrect. First of all there is no way to have gotten HIV or HCV from the incident you are talking about. But, so you know, the HCV (Hepatitis C) virus can live on a surface for days. Plain soap or saline will NOT kill the virus. The HCV virus is much more stable and resistant than the HIV virus is. But your chances of getting anything from the situation you mentioned are non existent.

You CAN get HCV from sharing a razor or a toothbrush with someone who has the virus. It also comes from IV drug use, sharing a straw used to snort any drug, especially cocaine, tattoos, piercings and needle sticks.

Hope that helps.

You don't have AIDS. Rinsing with saline can't hurt. I started taking a supplement called The Canker Spanker, which heals the sores you have and helps prevent new ones. Works great! Highly recommended. They are online and in a few stores, check'em out!

no, the virus dies when it comes into contact with air. you can only get it from direct transport of bodily fluids. but if you are really worried just go get tested

Well he washed the bin so... it wasn't wicker right? and he used hand soap. Yeah that should kill any disease.

Yes, you are going to die.

ur fine gorgeous, different viruses have certain times they can be out of body before they die...plus u said u washed it..
