I am allergic to a load of stuff, will it be ok if i use a nicotine patch or sho!

Question: I am allergic to a load of stuff, will it be ok if i use a nicotine patch or should i see a doctor first?
so i'm pretty sensitive to lots of stuff. i react badly to pain killers (couldn't breath, bad rash), anaesthetic (got the shakes/sweat & an asthma attack), nicotine gum (palpitations, dizzy, heartburn and face completely swelled up), lots of foods, swine flu jab (fever) and i've also got eczema and can't use lots of stuff on my skin (certain types of body lotions, soaps)
i really wanna give up smoking, but i'm pretty weary on using the patches. will i be ok? are there any side effects? or should i go see a doctor about it before?

Answers:

Definitely see your doctor first. If you had bad side effects to the gum then I wouldn't be so sure about the patch. Just quit cold turkey if you really have the determination to quit. From what I can see you probably shouldn't be smoking if you react to all the other stuff that you listed. I'm surprised you haven't reacted to cigarette smoke/nicotine itself. I use to be a smoker and I quit by using chantex and I can tell you that I haven't felt this healthy in a long time. I can definitely breathe A LOT better. As you have had so many reactions to other drugs in the past, I would ask your doctor about side effects to different drugs to help you quit smoking. Good luck!

? Yes, I would go see a doctor first if I was allergic to a lot of stuff. ? It would be stupid not to, take the pack of nicotine patches you want to use; find out what it is you're actually allergic to, for example some people can't use certain plasters, they have to use Hypo-Allergenic which contains silver. ? Then you can read the back of packs of stuff instead of needing to book an appointment and wait to see the doctor.

I think it would be adivsed to see your Pharmacyist or, your Doctor, they can tell you the correct information on things to take

Consult a doctor first definitely

When in doubt see a doctor :)
