You can get mono if you come into contact with someon who has it. I know this for a fact because I got mononucleosis and Monohepatitis. NO-one I knew had mono, at work or anywhere else. Yet I came down with a severe case. The dr's didnt believe I had that, as I had none of the syptoms, the only thing pointing to it was really the atypical bloodwork, So as a last chance before admitting me cause my liver values were 9 times normal which is real bad. He decidided to run the mono-spot test and sure enough it was positive. I had it . My hubby never got it.... we were 6 mon married. We still to this day have no idea where I contracted it.
