Question: UTI would not go away like I've had it with the UTI now!!!!! Please help?
So I'm going to see the Doctor on Monday again this will be the 3rd time I will see him yes he did take a culture and he said it's E-coli I have and I've been taking Cipro and it didn't work. So now I'm taking amoxicillin and it's not working either he gave me 30 capsules and I take 3 per day I've taken 12 already for 4 days now and when the weekend passes i'm going to go back by him on Monday. And Cranberry doesn't work for me and so I was wondering what Probiotics do if I can take it while taking the antibiotics or not. Didn't take probiotics yet but can I buy it and take it with amoxcillin? Oh and the doctor will take another culture on Monday

Answers:

1. Water. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. On average you should be drinking about 10 8 ounce glasses of water per day. It might be necessary for you to increase your water consumption to 1 8ounce glass every hour you are awake to completely flush your system of the bacteria.

2. Try adding some (1 tsp) baking soda to your water to assist in neutralizing the acid in the urine. It is best if you only use the baking soda a maximum of 2 times a day.

3. Blueberries or unsweetened blueberry juice. Blueberries have an antioxidant properties within them which assist the immune system in fighting off bacteria.

4. Vitamin C can also boost the immune system. You can increase your vitamin C intake to no more than 3000mg per day. This increase can be done by taking a vitamin C supplement or you can discuss safe high vitamin C foods to add into your diet.

5. Unsweetened cranberry juice assists the body in eliminating the bad bacteria, thus flushing the system of the infection. It is important that you drink only the unsweetened cranberry juice, otherwise you will not be benefiting your urinary tract health.
