What's wrong with my lips?!

Question: What's wrong with my lips?

I woke up this morning and my lips felt a little weird- like they were kind of swollen...when i looked in the mirror, my lips looked very red, and had a tiny bit of red colour around them- like i had eaten some sort of red sauce. my lips also look a little bigger then usual...
Anybody have any idea what could cause this? i'm getting a little nervous.

Have you recently used any new products on your face or eaten something new? If so then this could just be an allergic reaction. If the symptom persists then take some anti-histamine tablets like piriton which you can buy in the pharmacy for about 4 pounds max. This should reduce the swelling and redness and is a very good medicine to keep with you in case of emergencies.

If you don't think it is an allergy, It could be a sign of infection. If your lips are swollen for more than 3 days see your GP.

I would advise you to get the piriton tablets though and if you suddenly feel that it is hard to breathe or swallow call 999, get a straw and put it down your mouth to use as an airway.
