How do I know what kind of skin rash/allergy I might have? ?!

Question: How do I know what kind of skin rash/allergy I might have? ?
It looks like bumps and spreads, its been so itchy like poison ivy but doesn't have the bright red rash or dew drop look, it looks like a thousand little mosquito bites and won't stop itching, Any ideas on what it could be? I was at the beach and used sunblock spray by banana boat with aloe Vera and rolled in the sand & later went on a dinner cruise to an Island where there was plants although the people who own it deny any poisonous plants. Please help me figure this out
Thanks in advance. 8-)

It is rarely easy to tell what a rash is caused by.

My mean old dermatologist used to scold me that, if it was primarily symmetrical (e.g., the knuckles of both hands, front of torso, roughly symmetrical, both legs), then it was systemic (something I ate). If it was in random places (e.g., 1 leg and 1 arm), then it was probably external, like dust, mites, bed bugs, fleas, etc.

Because you sprayed a lotion and got sand everywhere, it might be hard to id if it is symmetrical or not. You could be allergic to the spray, sensitve to the spraying-on process, sensitive or allergic to the sand, allergic to something you ate, gotten loads of insect bites, or simply overheated and getting a heat rash.

I would end up on Benadryl for 1-2 days (zombie, hard to go to school or work). Then on a histamine blocker like Zyrtec or Allegra, or both H1 and H2 blockers.
Good luck!
