why do I feel a numbness and tingly sensation when I wake up from a nap or a sle!
Question: Why do I feel a numbness and tingly sensation when I wake up from a nap or a sleep?
Answers:
Best case scenario: There is a mechanism that stops you from shifting during deep sleep (for sleepwalkers etc. obviously don't have this mechanism). Sometimes, when you wake, the mechanism doesn't "switch off" as quickly as it should. It means the person will feel numbness, maybe even paralysis for as long as a few minutes. It's the most likely reason behind some paranormal experiences (don't quote me on that). It could just be this.
Worst Case Scenario: You have a serious problem with circulation. Your extremities (arms, legs) are the "last" to get a fresh supply of blood and the first to loose it if you are cold etc (which is why your hands turn blue). If you had a circulation problem while lying down, you could be restricting blood to your legs, causing the numbness and tingles.
I'm NOT a medical expert. If you are worried AT ALL I strongly urge you to see a proffessional.
EDIT: Glad to hear you're ok. I hope it doesn't come back.
