What could be causing my body to break out?!

Question: What could be causing my body to break out?
I'm a 21 year old male, I've never had body acne at all, and I hardly had it on my face growing up. For the last three weeks I've been breaking out all over my arms, chest, and back. For the most part they look like big red bumps with no white heads, but I'm also getting a few of those too.

My diet changed about two months ago, but it's much healthier than it was before so I don't think that's it. I haven't changed any of my soaps/fragrances, still using the same detergents, and I wash my bed sheets regularly. Outside of that what could be causing this and what can I do to fix it?

Answers:

Well, depending on what your diet has changed to, could have a lot to do with it. Any changes can cause disruptions in the body. If your diet has changed drastically from say junk/fast food to strict vegetarian, your body could be going through a cleansing process in which it is eliminating waste and toxins through your skin. Or maybe you have an allergy to something new you are eating. I would say give it a month and if it doesnt start to clear up see a Doctor.

If you increased your consumption of animal meat as your source of protein, that could very well be part of what is causing your breakout. Try plant-based proteins and eggs are ok too. Meats contain a lot of toxins and also can be hard on the kidneys, liver, and other organs, so it's best to keep it to a minimum. If it is your body detoxing, it could take a month or longer for the breakout to clear up completely.

These type of things happen may happen due to your diet change or due to some allergies caused because of environmental factors. So it would be better to consult a good skin specialist and get advice before it becomes worse.

Did you add a lot of any groups of food when you changed your diet, for instance lactose? If your diet involves a lot of milk, this could be a reaction to the lactose or other similar intolerance causing compounds.

When this happens to me, the reason is poor liver function. When I eat some meats, especially pork, the extra work somehow manifests itself as large, almost boil like spots on various parts of the body, especially stomach and neck.

Do you have some clothing which presses tightly on your skin? I find when I wear certain tops that fit tight on the neck or under the armpits, I get a sweat rash, which is caused by the friction and by blocking of sweat pores.

Try a good soaking in the bath, and take another look at what you eat, try to see if the rash is worse at a certain time of day, for instance when you get up or after a meal.

Sometimes a hormonal change can cause acne to break out later in life, and also some meds, especially anti-depressants and anti epileptic drugs.

Ya Man I feel you, but hear me out I've lived in florida my whole life and my parents didn't have acne at all growing up and now my dad is getting acne breakouts at 50 and I started at 17. I did everything proactiv washes, everything and I just got off accutane for 6 months, and I'm still getting brakouts. But I noticed something while at disneyworld hotels in Orlando my acne improves amazingly, and then once I get home boom it breaks out. So I got to thinking about it and figured out it's the water where I live sw Florida, it's all hard water and gets chlorine shocks all the time, Disneyworld has private water filters and supply that's alot cleaner and doesn't get chlorine shocked constantly. So I know this sounds gross but I stopped taking showers for about a week and half washed my hair and body with bottled water lol and no breakouts then I took a shower and the next morning breakout. So very soon I'm getting a shower filter that gets rid of bacterias and chlorine in the water.
