Friend is allergic to cats, I have 4 and she's coming to my party... HELP!?!
Question: Friend is allergic to cats, I have 4 and she's coming to my party... HELP!?
We're planning on keeping the cats in the bedroom for the evening, but i'm worried about the existing dander in the house.
Is there anything i can do to minimize dander or help out my friend?
real answers please!
thanks

Answers:
put them away in a room and make sure no one goes in there okay
Try to brush the dander from plush surfaces. Especially where the cats are the most. Vacuum the couches if you can, if not just do the carpets. Sweep hardwood and tile a few times floors to get all dander. Febreeze all soft surfaces, let set in for 10 minutes, vacuum and brush the surface, then Febreeze again. You might want to do these a few times. You can use air freshner in the air but that might be too strong, so try odor absorbing or regular candles. :)
Vacuum thoroughly in the part of the house your friend will be in.
There is a special HEPA filter you can even get for your vacuum cleaner. Air out the house. Wash if necessary. Clean the chairs. Have good ventilation.
I suppose your friend knows that you have cats, so she will probably take her antihistamine too.
Definitely vacuum the house. and if she is sleeping over---tell her to bring her own sheets! Also She should take an allergy pill 2-5 hours before (eg Claritin/Reactine)

Vacuum up the cat hair, which could mean everywhere. Along with the cats, put cat scratchers or other cat toys in the bedroom too.
