Cause of abdominal to chest pain?!

Question: Cause of abdominal to chest pain?
Today I had pain in my stomach I thought because all I had eaten today was 3 mini bags of goldfish, a cereal bar, and a few cheez its. But then, then the pain went from my stomach to my upper right abdomin area, to the bottom of my throat, to the left side of my chest near my heart. I was also starting to feel really hot. I mean I was outside when this happened but it was all of a sudden. I'm fine now with only little chest pain. Anyone know what this could be? Also, I was drunk yesterday and I was thinking that this could be causing it?

Answers:

Hi,
This sounds like acid reflux symptoms and you are experiencing heartburn.
What we commonly refer to as heartburn is actually pain and burning in the esophagus caused by the reflux of acid from the stomach into the esophagus. This is due to the overproduction of acid in the stomach, which can cause regurgitation, and to the improper functioning of the sphincter that sits between the esophagus and the stomach.
This might be causes by spicy foods, alcohol and more. It specially makes sense if you were drunk yesterday.
