6"2 175LBS.. How do I gain weight?!

Question: I'm a 16 year old male, and despretly want to be over 185 LBS by the end of christmas vacation. What should I do to get this weight? I weightlift, swim and do track, and am also planning to join the football team next year.. Any help? I don't want to take any like protien shakes, cause I heard they taste awfull.
I read somewhere that if I eat 500 calories more a day, I will gain atleast 1 pound per week, is this true?

Do you think I am too thin for my height and age?

I would say that you are just about right. When you get older and your metabolism slows down, believe me, you will gain lots of weight which will be hard to shed and your muscle will turn to mush. Don't mean to bum you out - just keeping it real. Keep working out and watch what you eat.

eat more shitty foods

yes thats true but it doesnt sound like you need to loose weight

Eat, eat, and eat some more.

Eat more than 500, try 1000, its not that hard!

holy god man yes for being that tall your toooo thin!!!!

what you read is true. Remember that you must eat more calories than you burn to gain weight. Try eating many meals throught the day 5 or 6, in heavier than usual portions.

Take steroids. Not only do you gain weight, but you weaken your heart, disqualify yourself from competitions, and qualify to be a professional baseball player.

dude just stick to the gym, and u will build up muscle over time. just DONT try to gain weight by gorging urself over christmas that much weight gained in a short amount of time is very unhealthy. you could eat more food but only healthy foods.

You gain weight by eating lots of junk food and candy.

buddy i think u r a little too thin. I am 6'4 and 215 lbs and 15. You should get up to 185 and 190 range but do it by pure muscle. Run stairs helps build ur calves which r good for football. JUst keep working out but swimming will mostly help u lose fat and strengthen your shoulders.

EAT!!!!!!!
Try those vitamin stores for MESO TECH or MET-Rx. They helped my son hulk up.

maybe your just naturally skinny. Gain weight the healthy way tho. dont get fatter, get more muscular! lift weights, or something.... cuz if you just eat crap then youll feel really sluggish and not good. eat healthy food with calories.

If you slow down your activity level for a month and increase your calorie consumption you will gain weight.

If you want to gain wait then eat alot of ice cream. ice cream has been shown to make people gain wait the fastest. john trevolta ate it while he was filming in a movie for a part were he had to be heavier.

why do u want to gain weight? your healthy and you dont weigh much for your height cuz you're on a growth spurt. once its over the lbs pack on real fast.

anyways if you think ur too thin google up a child BMI calculator online.

everyone is shaped and sized differently, but yes that true about gaining the pound a week, but if you drink these shakes called ensure, they will help you gain weight because they are like 250-500 calories and they are very very tasty!!!!!!!

Eat more foods with protein and carbs. That will give you more weight. If you want to build your body like a bodybuilder here is a website for you.

eat more food than usual in the night especially and do not sleep often or else you will take it back off

yes its true that if you eat 500 more calories you will gain weight but if you do decide 2 do that eat only carbs that will help you alot. no actually i think you are a pretty good weight.

I'm twice your age at the same height and only 155 - I eat loads more than the average person but it does nothing

I was 6'2' and 185lbs in high school, played football, basketball, and track, and I always thought everybody else my height and that weighed less than me were little wussies. Har Har

Stop drinking 2% milk, and start drinking 3.8% or "Whole Milk" several times a day with Ovaltine.

Your decicion, not as healthy, but heavier or slim, but healthy...

i am 6ft 2ins, 32 years old and am just shy of 14ST, i have always been thin, i tried everything but in the end it does come down to the more you eat the better. try building you appetite by eating more, if you struggle try little and often. my new formula at the moment is bacon and eggs sandwich cooked in fat 4 times a day plus normal high protein meals. shakes are awfull but try adding fruit to them for flavour, i use vannila shakes with full fat milk blended with banana. lookes like it's starting to work

No, nothing abnormal there, you're BMI is 22.47. It should be between 18.5 and 24.9. Nothing at all to worry over.
