Are they unhealthy?

No, I don't think they are unhealthy, but they don't help to provide a balanced meal.

Crackers are made with from white flour, shortening, yeast, and baking soda, and salt.

Low fat crackers are better for you than the original. Why not change to the low sodium crackers also? They taste pretty close to the original except you don't get the bits of salt on your lips.

Saltines are not good for you. Its not the salt or the fat content its the cracker itself. Too refined. Refined foods are not good and can lead to stomach cancers.
Eat natural whole wheat grain crackers.

They're not healthy, but I don't see how 15 crackers a day will hinder you.

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it (it's 100% natural). The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.free-thin-diet.us where they have a free trial and you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling.
Good luck!

Use the unsalted, whole wheat ones. They are a substitute for bread with 15 saltines equivalent to about 2 slices of bread.

Compared to other crackers, Saltines are low fat.
