Bread Unhealthy?!

Question: I heard that bread was a little unhealthy, and you should have maybe more then 2 in a day. but i used to eat it everyday, so i switched to whole-wheat bread, because it was supposedly healthier.

Is whole-wheat bread healthier than the other stuff. and can i still eat my bread everyday without worrying about gaining any weight?

because this whole-wheat stuff is supposed to be healthier so i thought that since its healthier i could eat it pretty much everyday like i liked to, and it not be bad for me.

Help?

Even though it is true that breads and starches contain more calories they don't have to be unhealthy. Instead of choosing white breads you should choose an all 100% wheat bread that has possible fruits and nuts in it. They have one that is called Harvest wheat that is wonderful. It has walnuts and sunflower seeds on the top of the bread. If you do decide to do bread then add something that is healthy on top of that bread. Fresh peanut butter- honey instead of sugary jams and jellies, real butter instead of margarines, fresh turkey or chicken meats and lots of veggies, tuna, etc for sandwiches. If you are young and healthy then stop worrying so how much you are eating. Just make them healthier choices.

Bread can be unhealthy if you overindulge.. but that is true of anything...

multigrain is even better than whole wheat. I myself only have two slices a month. Any more than that, my waist begins to expand.

either way, bread is still unhealthy. believe me, my mom used to eat bread everyday, but then the doctor said it was ruining her body (not weight), so she had to take pills. I would limit your indulging of bread everyday

sure illl help. i just read in biology class that bread has a lot of carbs which give you energy but can also make you gain more weight if you get too much in your system.whole wheat read is very healthy for and you and your heart, but try not to overdose on the stuff. eat a decent amount each day like 2 slices each meal or somethin'. i think whole wheat bread is much healthier than the other stuff becuae its wheat .

It is better for you. On weight watchers men can eat 4 pieces a day .it is all the stuff you may put on it that is bad like cold cuts lunch meat is bad . eat fresh mean chicken or roast beef or anything but alot of mayonaise and cold cuts.

Wheat can create an inflammatory condition in the blood which is a precursor to osteoarthritis which can have serious mobility consequences. Some alternatives are oat bread, rice bread, etc.

And each slice contains about 100-120 calories, so it doesn't take too much to raise your caloric input for the day.
