Question for people who have used creatine with work outs....?!

Question: i have a couple questions if you have used it.

1. is it safe to use when it comes to hydration and kidneys?

2. does it make a noticable difference in muscle mass?

3. are there any herbs, OTC drugs, prescription drugs, or illegal drugs that interact with creatine?

4. why does it seem to have such a bad rap?

Answers: i have a couple questions if you have used it.

1. is it safe to use when it comes to hydration and kidneys?

2. does it make a noticable difference in muscle mass?

3. are there any herbs, OTC drugs, prescription drugs, or illegal drugs that interact with creatine?

4. why does it seem to have such a bad rap?

1. It is safe. Creatine is found naturally in many foods and is also produced by the human body. Strength athletes take it before workouts to help with the production of ATP, the muscles' primary energy source during strength exercises, and it also helps with the uptake of nutrients. Unless you are a kidney patient there is no harm to the kidneys.

2. What it does do is help get those extra reps into a workout, but is not involved in muscle growth directly. Also, the aid in the uptake of nutrients helps during anabolism.

3. Not that I'm aware of, especially OTC, but if you're taking special prescription drugs I would ask your doctor about it. I wouldn't trust illegal drugs to interact well with anything though I've never heard of any bad interactions specifically concerning creatine.

4. This comes from unknowledeable people who give opinions without taking the time to learn the facts. One way doctors determine if a person has kidney problems is with the overabundance of creatinine in the blood, a digested protein by-product that is normally filtered out by the kidneys. However, bodybuilders who get an abundance of protein in their diets, and especially those who take creatine supplements, also show a high level of creatinine, but those with healthy kidneys have no problem filtering this out. Unfortunately, most GP physicians get no training on sports physiology and nutrition so will sometimes "pop a false positive" when it comes to the strength athlete who gets a lot of protein and creatine in their diet.

dont think so, no, dont think so, it holds water in your body. it helps you get a better pump, wont burn your muscles out as fast, it does help, but you work for it.

1. Creatine is safe to use if you ingest the recommended amounts. You're not going to hurt yourself if you use it correctly and have healthy kidneys.
2. That is up in the air. You will notice an increase in weight, but it is debatable as to whether this is muscle increase or water. Bottom line: Some studies say yes, others no.
3. There are no known interactions.
4. The bad rap is not metited. Cretine is not a steroid, and is produced naturally in the body. You eat it when you consume red meat, and it is broken down naturally into creatinine by the kidneys.

Conclusion: it's safe, but the effects are disputed.

1. Sure it is, but they do recommend that you drink a lot of water throughout the day.

2. Yes it does. You'll need to go through the proper loading phase however.

3. Not that I'm aware of. There is a synergistic type effect when you take creatine with ribose. But as ribose is a simple sugar that should come as no surprise.

4. Honestly I don't know. It's a great product, all natural, legal for competition and really no unwanted side effects.

1. It won't really hurt you (because your body produces it naturally) unless you are downing a ton of it a day.

2. Yes, it does increase your size but only because it makes you retain a lot of water in your muscles which cause them to stretch more than normal, giving you the 'pump' feeling after your workout. Downside to all this is you have to work out like an ox to get max benefits and you lose a lot of your size once you get off of it uness you phase it out of your routine/diet

3. Dunno, but I doubt it.

4. It's considered a 'cheater' move because it's a forced growth, not natural. The bad rap comes from 5-10 guys who died from using it and not being well hydrated (mind you extreme workout conditions and severe dehydration caused these!!!). There's no way in the world you'd be able to get the stuff if it was that dangerous. Just listen to your body and drink lots of water and work out really hard.

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product (all natural) which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website
