Can too much flax seed supplements be bad for you?!

Question: How much were you thinking of? The oil is high in calories and 100% fat, so large amounts could cause weight gain. You should limit your fat intake to 60g per day, so more than 60g (60 ml or about 4 tablespoons) of flax seed oil would mean you should eat no other dietary fat for the day.

There has no been no evidence showing taking large amounts of flaxseed are harmful. This goes for fish oil also, they both contain omega 3, 6, and some 9 fatty acids. These fatty acids are shown to support heart health and muscle repair. Hope this helps, feel free to email me with any further questions.

I doubt that taking too much flax seed supplements would be bad to our health. In fact, typical diets are short on Omega 3 nutrients that are available with flax seed so that taking tablespoons of milled flax seed and flax seed oil distributed over the meals of the day allows one to reach the RDA for this nutrient that is not synthesized by the body.
