Is this considered "fat"?!

Question: I'm 5'8" and I have wide shoulders and really wide hips. I weigh 150 lbs and I've weighed that much for like the last 4 years. It hasn't changed much (maybe a little bit up or down). I'm 16. Is this considered to be fat or .. overweight? I really don't see a problem in it but everybody's talking about losing weight and I'm just curious if I should too.

BMI tends to misleading, as it doesn't take individual bone structure and muscle/fat ratio into account. The one true way to know, is your mirror. If you like what you see, then don't give it another thought. If you see some areas that could use improvement, then exercise to achieve the results you desire, and diet as well if need be. The scale is no way to judge your self. Poor muscle tone won't change with weight loss, and exercise will actually add weight, after the initial loss, as muscle is heavier than fat by a large amount. I am 5'9", and 205. But I work out three times a week, and have 6-pack abs.
The body mass index says I am very overweight. Yeah, ok.
The mirror says different!!!

It's probably not.
You're tall, plus your bone structure sounds wide. You can't control that part whatsoever.

no, 150 is normal for someone of your size and also because your frame is wider. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

Definately not. I'm exactly the same way!

I'm 16 and also 5'8 and weigh 160 but im a guy... I'm very fit

It all depends where your weights comeing from

My weight comes from my muscle's ,,knowing muscles weight more than body fat,, So if your not musclular your body fat may be a little too much

I love thick, not fat girls so dont get to skinny

since you're so tall it's a perfect weight. people who are telling you you might want to lose weight are probably just jelous!! =D

Weight is not a good measure of your body composition. A better way to determine whether you are at a healthy body weight is to have a health care provider due a skin-fold test on you. A skin-fold test will help give you an idea of your body fat percentage.

If you decide you need to lose weight than do it because you want to improve your health not your aesthetic.

no u just have broad shoulders :)

No, that's pretty normal.
