Do magnetic belts actually work and what exactly do they accomplish?!
Question: I have a friend who says that his magnetic belt helps him to not eat too much, but I'm thinking that if a belt could do this, then any belt would work. What's so special about it being magnetic?

It's purely psychological. If he believes the belt will curb his appetite, it will. It's like a placebo.
About all a magnetic belt will do is help you collect paper clips.
Another Scam.
starwhitedwarf, you Should Be Suspicious.
hmmm, I don't know. That is interesting. Similarly, I saw a product at the pharmacy the other day something called magnetic therapy. It is supposed to heal pain somehow. I wonder if and how it works.
" lol at what jack of all trades said"
Edit: hehehe. yeah mdgreg, I should be suspicious but I think that with products like the one Dr D raised and the one I saw at the pharmacy, the name adds a some kind of mystic intrigue to it, and perhaps people would buy it just because the name suggests that it has some special properties for those who are naive.
