Dieting and chocolate.... how to combine them both?!

Question: Okay, well my downfall is definately chocolate! I crave it and I know that if I am going to loose the amount of weight I plan to I should avoid chocolate. BUT I have heard so many stories of people who try to avoid their fave things and falling off the wagon... and sometimes never starting again. How can I do it both ways? I am just going to say that some sugar free chocolate or a tiny amount of it (like 5 M&M's a day) are not going to do the trick. Someone said buy the chocolate fat-free jello pudding... is that a good idea? Or is it really just the same as eating a candy bar or something? Anything helps, I need a lot of support! Thank you!

Anything fat-free tastes like crap, so if you want an incentive to dieting and EXERCISE...reward yourself with chocolate, the good stuff. Chocolate isn't bad for you, eating it in moderation will not make you fat handfuls after handfuls of m&m's will. Fudgesicles are pretty good, try those and get the kiddie sized ones, not only do they taste awesome it's a good snack after working out and it cools you down. Now the game is, you work out however many times a week you do, and you do the requirements needed so you reward yourself with a fudgesicle...pudding is BAD by the way...full of dairy products, no fat free icream either...dark chocolate is the healthiest because it doesn't contain as much milk...milk is fattening, white bread, beer and fastfood. Just give it a try!

Just exercise twice as long to burn off the chocolate lol.

low fat hot chocolate...

have couple a those a day
its satisfies yet it cuts everything(cals,fat..) by more then half!

tiny bit of dark chocolate each day...has antioxidants! better for you than the other types of chocolate and more satisfying

try dark choc, it dosent have sugar and all those junk. plus, its good for your blood circulation

Just burn more calories or replace the chocolate calories with some less fattier food on your diet.

Try dark chocolates.

try and make something like choc chip muffins that are ressembly low in fat bt hve a bit of what u luv

1/2 cup yoghurt (fruit, plain, whatever you want)
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
50g butter
1 c flour
1/2 tspn baking soda
3 Tblespn cocoa powder
as much or lil choco chips as u like

some nuitriance and a lil bit of what u luv 2 keep u goen

never deprive your body from your fav food. trust me ..

guess what.. i have been healthy for 6 months and today i ate 3/4 of a BLOCK of chocolate..
and just yesterday i ate like half a cake.

i know i'm not that fat.. but that was me cracking and now i am having CONSTANT cravings for chocolate right now its crazy.

its because i didnt let myself eat it for so long.

still eat it but in little amounts....
people always say dark chocolate is better.. but if you dont like it then its worse right...

i know weight watches have some fat free puddings.. but its not the same.

if you want chocolate...eat it.. you can still lose weight as long as you dont go overboard like me lol.
now i feel really bad... and once i started i didnt want to stop because i already 'broke' my healthy diet.

moderation is the key.

go for it.

buy your favorite chocolate candy mini size and indulge yourself with one but only twice a week, and do carido for 30 minutes on the days you do.

There are other dietary products that involve chocolate. Some of the slimfast bars... I personally love the Rich Chocolate Brownie slimfast bar, it tastes PERFECT.

I have a few ideas. I know you not interested in sugar free chocolate. But my auntie is on a diet at the moment and has been doing really well for months now. With her diet the people who run it suggested cadbury's Lite chocolate. She loves it. They suggest 5 pieces a day maximum.

Another suggestion is something I saw on Oprah one day. Apparently she craves chocolate too. I dont know the brand of it but ive seen it at the shops. Its a chocolate paddle pop type thing - smaller tho. Its zero fat and something like 5 calories or something. its obviously artificially sweetened, which isnt great for u. But ok if u dont over do it.

personally i dont agree with dieting. I think developing a healthy eating plan that you can stick to is more important. Its got to be a life long thing or u just pile the weight back on when u stop. You also cant cut out things you love because you will only feel deprived.

I wish you luck with achieving your goals :) Hope i helped a bit heheh

Well it depends on what type of diet you are doing. The main question is why are you having these cravings? The answer is b/c your blood sugar is very low and your body wants something sweet and quick acting to bring it back up. What you need to do is find a doctor or a nutritionist who can help teach you how to maintain your blood sugar levels at an even rate through out the entire day. With most of my patients they start out the same way you are, trying to figure out how they can eat what they want and still lose weight. Once you learn how to eat properly and maintain a level blood sugar throughout the day your cravings for chocolate will fade. I have seen it hundreds of times. And most importantly when you exercise and eat this way you lose weight. Averaging about 1-2 lbs/wk sometimes more depending on how much you exercise. The key thing is to find a guide to help you. Now I don't mean your friend or neighbor. I am talking about someone who will make you accountable for your actions like a doctor, nutritionist, personal trainer etc. These are the people who are going help you avoid the pitfalls of natural human weakness and keep you on the path to success.

PS If you are just looking for something sweet anything that contains fructose is ok. It is slow acting sugar that doesn't create those highs and lows which make you crave more sweets.
