How do I loose 5 pounds in the safest way possible?!

Question: Okay, first of all, I'm 13 years old. And I'm not overweight, but before you slam me, just hear me out. Each year, around the time of my birthday, I go to the doctor to have a wellness visit. About a year ago, I went and they told me I was about 20 pounds underweight (I SOOOO am not!) Anyways, since then I've gained 10 pounds. (I do look a little heavy, so 20 pounds would be awful!) But when I went to the doctors they yelled at me and said I gained the weight too fast. It HAS been a whole year, so I don't get it. I guess you never can win, but I really want to loose just 5 pounds just to create a little setback, so I don't gain too much weight too fast. I know dieting is unhealthy for my age, but I'm desperate! Please help!

I believe that weight loss always starts from mindset. This is the reason why i am able to lose 15kg in 2 months and maintain for 3 years straight, all the way till my pregnancy.

1) What is my goal? I want to lose __kg in __ time.
2) Why do I want to achieve this goal? (if possible, come up with 50 reasons)
3) If I do not achieve it, what pains will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
4) If I achieve it, what happiness will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
5) What will happen to me if I continue my current situation for the next 10 years?
6) Then when do I want to take action?

Some solutions I can offer you for diet:
Breakfast: eat fruits/drink fruit juice
Lunch: Less carbo, more veg and fruits, less seafood, meat and eggs
Dinner: Same as lunch but no solid food after 8pm. Soups are great dinners

If you want to exercise to enhance the speed of weight loss. Go for some light jogging or do something you enjoy like an aerobic class or kick boxing class...

At 13, you should listen to your doctors. If you want to lose weight safely, talk to them.
If you don't like your doctor, ask your parents if you can see a different one.
Or, you could ask to see a nutritionist.

do cardio excersices. work out,eat healthy. set time aside to run a mile or 2.

First of all i;m assuming that your a girl. Now at your age i weighed quite alot but you shouldn't worry about it.. As you get older and in highschool you will lose weight and you will thin out... this is because you are losing your baby fat and trust me you'll lose it and if not then working out in your gyms weight room can't hurt it will only add muscle mass and make you lose body fat. At age 14 i weighed 130 and now at age 16 i;m down to 120 so within 2 years i;ve lossed 10lbs and i;m maintaining it. But meal wise eat 3 meals a day especially breakfast, eat alot of meats, and just try and eat less bad fats and more good fats, lean away from junk food and pop i did and oh man i feel good.

Hi there, I want to advice that you cannot always go by the chart, like what the doctors sometimes do. People are built differently, body wise. Like Asians bone structure is typically smaller than caucasians. I am Asian, I gained 20lbs in a month, way too fast, but beside the point. I am overweight now by like 20lbs, however, according to the chart I am NOT overweight. So untrue, I have strectmarks, joints hurt, body body cannot take the weight, I wear a size 8-11 when I used to be a size 4. Anyway, maybe you do not need to gain the weight is what I am saying. And taking a year to gain 10lbs is not even terrible. What is your doctor talking about???

Now, since I really do not know how much you weigh and what you should weigh, I cannot advice too much on that. Only that you and your parents can best tell what is healthy for you. At age 13 when I was 5'3-4" I weighed 110lbs. If you want to lose the weight, just do lots of walking, that way you do not build muscle just burning the fat. Drink plenty of water, it'll help your circulation AND metabolism run smoothly to digest foods. Just don't overeat and eat every 3 hours small meals or snacks to keep your metabolism working smoothly. You are young, you can lose that weight easily do not worry, just do NOT skip meal because it will weaken your metabolism and will hurt you in the long run.

DO NOT LISTEN TO SYLVIE
You will not ''thin out'' automatically just because you are in high school. You need to do something about it now, while it is not controlling your life. Exercise and diet. Find a way that works. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL IT IS SUPPOSED TO "THIN OUT." You will be unhappy, because by then you will have gained more weight.

Ok, at 13, there's a lot of fudge room to work with. You may be exceptionally tall, or have a higher metabolism than other kids, there are a lot of resons why you weight the way you do. The most important thing that you need to focus on is your health. If you look and feel healthy, there should be no issue. Something that you need to consider is that there are basic needs your body has and being underweight might affect those needs. Having body fat, for instance, helps regulate heat and your menstrual period. If there's not enough weight to support those functions, your body will stop having them, which means that you will always be cold and not get your period at regular intervals.
Gaining and losing weight too fast, however, does have negative side effects. It's very hard on your heart and there have been rare cases where people's hearts have given out at young ages because they gained/lost weight too fast.
I would talk to your doctor about your health and what you can do to improve it. If they say you're still underweight, ask what might be causing that and what you can do to improve upon it.
