I'm 120 pounds, 16 years old, and 5 feet. How long will it take me to lose 1!

Losing weight is a mixture of both diet AND excercise. You can lose 10 lbs in as little as 2 weeks if you are diligent about it. You need to start by training your metabolism to work correctly. Start the mornings with a 500 calorie breakfast such as two or three eggs. Eat a light snack around 10:30 or so. This can be a little fruit, some plain oatmeal, a low calorie protein bar, etc. Have a moderate, but healthy lunch...perhaps a plain grilled chicken breast sandwich with pesto on wheat bread. AVOID ANYTHING THAT SAYS "Enriched", ie; white breads, white rice, etc. "Enriched is a cheap way of saying "Sugar added and nutrients stripped." Eat another small snack around 3:00. Try some ostrich jerkey or turkey jerkey. You want to be consuming about 100 to 120 calories for this snack. Have a well balanced dinner. Chicken, veggies, brown rices, etc. You really want to be consuming about 1200 - 1500 calories a day MAX. You can never just do it by diet alone. You need to excercise. If you have a gym near by, join it. Go for an hour a day Monday thru Friday. Switch it up a little. Maybe do cardio three days a week on the odd days and weight training on the even days. In one month, I weighed the same as when I joined the gym but had lost 5 inches in my waitline (going from a 34" waist to a 29" waist). I was not interested in losing weight, just toning so I never did any cardio. It is possible to achieve your goal. The most important part is finding a routine and not letitng yourself deviate away from it. Good luck!

Whatever you do, do not listen to people like rosa. I cannot stress this enough:::Crash diets are very dangerous and your body runs the risk of shutting down completely. Never EVER crash diet. It is the most unhealthy thing you can do. It's safer to be overweight than to crash.

umm, why lose weight? that's a healthy weight. you young girls are so odd, why do you want to be so skinny? it's unhealthy.

If you want to go on a crash diet then try the three day diet when you lose 10 pounds in 3 days. Or you can just drink a lot of water and snacks in school then dinner and you will like lose 4 pounds a week.

I believe that weight loss always starts from mindset. This is the reason why i am able to lose 15kg in 2 months and maintain for 3 years straight, all the way till my pregnancy.

1) What is my goal? I want to lose __kg in __ time.
2) Why do I want to achieve this goal? (if possible, come up with 50 reasons)
3) If I do not achieve it, what pains will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
4) If I achieve it, what happiness will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
5) What will happen to me if I continue my current situation for the next 10 years?
6) Then when do I want to take action?

Some solutions I can offer you for diet:
Breakfast: eat fruits/drink fruit juice
Lunch: Less carbo, more veg and fruits, less seafood, meat and eggs
Dinner: Same as lunch but no solid food after 8pm. Soups are great dinners

If you want to exercise to enhance the speed of weight loss. Go for some light jogging or do something you enjoy like an aerobic class or kick boxing class...
