Why do I have stretch marks? how can i get rid of them?!

Question: I have never had a baby nor am i pregnant. I realize stretch marks are caused by rapid weight gain, and i have gained a few pounds over the year... about 15 pounds. I just dont understand why other overweight people dont have any. I have stretch marks everywhere! its soooo ugly and i really want to get rid of them. they are all over my stomache, sides, arms, thighs, i feel very self concious now and i wont even wear sleevless shirts im so embarrased. any suggestions?.... other the loose weight...the obious prevention

I had some stretch marks on my hips a few years ago and I was told that it was because I was bigger and then lost a lot of weight, just like you do when you are pregnant and I have never been pregnant either. I started using Cocoa Butter on them and they faded for the most part, you can still seem them slightly but not nearly as much as you used to. They actually have Cocoa Butter specifically for stretch marks. The brand is Palmer's, that's what I used and it worked great. Here is the product, you can buy it at any store:

Also I have heard that Vitamin E works great on stretch marks as well because it is a type of scar. If the Cocoa Butter doesn't work you could break open some Vitamin E capsules and rub it into the marks.

You have stretch marks from when you had that extra weight before then lost it. That's just extra skin and I think you can get laser surgery for it or sumthin.

Cocoa butter help reduce some streach marks. Good luck :)

they have cosmetic surgery procedures for removing them, but that is the only way to really get rid of them.

coco butter lotion by Palmer's is really good.. don't feel bad about your stretch marks over time they will fade and almost everyone has them somewhere on their body.

It's because of your genes. And the structure of your skin. Others were just luckier, better genes and skin, thicker. You won't lose them if you lose weight, they will still be there. These creams they advertise are no good, do not waste your money. The only way is surgery (laser). If you decide to do this, you'll need to lose weight first. When loosing weight, exercise and use creams, rich body butters and cocoa butter for the skin. Massage is good, too. You'd steal have some, but they would be less prominent.
