I keeeeeeep on bingeing keep on bingeing and cant sop !! please please help!!?!


Question: like i have said i have anorexia and i keep bingeing and its like i make myself eat till i actually feel physically sick and then feel awful!!i dont even want to eat , im not very high weight and needto gain so i keep saying does it matter if i binge but then i go way over and feel crap the next day? how shud i purfly myself , oh pls does anyone get this ??? im so scared and no one seems to be giving me good advice at home or at the doctors and i just want to get better. there was a period when i would do anything not to eat andnow alll i do is plan my binges. im such a boring person all i am is food !! what can i do please help!! thankso much and sorry for being such a bore. how much should i eat to gain weight healtily and not feeel awful and what shud i eat?? im 38 kilos and just over 5-4 ?? thanks xxx

It sounds like you're in a tough predicament right now. Recovering from an eating disorder is hard work, so I recommend you find a professional (therapist, nutritionist, etc) with whom you get on well, and they will be able to give you a lot of tips and advice.

From what I have learned, when you starve yourself and then you go to eat, your body almost overrides your brain and puts your hand on autopilot, so you just can't seem to stop putting the food in. It needs the nutrition so badly that it is actually overriding your free will to get it. If you are thinking about binges all of the time, your body is still lacking something it needs. If you are binging on unhealthy food, your body is trying to get more vitamins and nutrients.

You really do need to speak to a nutritionist or a counselor or someone who you do get on with, and who does give you good advice, if you are not getting that from your doctor, don't be afraid to find a new one. Your health is more important than his or her feelings.

One thing you might try in the meantime is called the three-food interception. At a time when you are not pressured to binge (or the least pressured) make a list of HEALTHY foods that you like. Make sure you always have them on hand, especially at first. These should be foods that you feel fairly safe eating. Before allowing yourself to eat unhealthy foods, eat one serving of each of three of the foods off of that list. This will sometimes make you full so that you do not eat as much of a less healthy food, plus it gives your body more of the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients it needs.

Also, make sure you are drinking enough water. Sometimes being dehydrated can make a person want to eat, even though they're really just thirsty.

One other thing- I know it's really hard, but you do need to allow yourself to eat "junk" food sometimes without binging. Otherwise, you want more of it when it is available to you. if you realize that it is something that you can have on occasion, when you want it, sometimes that will decrease the likelihood of binging on it accidentally.
