Does increasing muscle volume/capacity affect your growth?!

Question: i've been doing workouts to make my muscles bigger (like push ups, abdominal etc...) over the last few months and found out that im not growing taller any more. im 14 years old too. do u know if the workouts affect my growth? can u also tell me how i can grow taller, (no pills or anything just natural), or what foods i should eat?

Working out, even using heavy weights, does not stunt growth nor does having additional lean muscle stunt growth. Physical exercise is nothing but benificial to the body. Your height is determined by genetics and is only stunted from extreme malnourishment or possibly other environmental toxins, but not exercise. There is no scientific or medical evidence to support this. Likely you'll hit a growth spurt soon, you're only 14 and I've seen people hit growth spurts after 18. So no worries, you'll get there.

i dont think it should.. in fact, it should probably help increase your height... but it all depends on your growth pattern. and my mom used to work with this lady who's brother's doctor said he was only gonna be like 5'8" but he heard from somewhere that if u hang from a bar for like 5-7 minutes everyday that will help you grow..... i dont know if thats true but he ended up being 6'... that could either be bc of that or his doctor was just wrong.. but hey.. its worth a shot.
