I can't decide if I'm fat or not??!

Question: I am a girl, I am 5'9" and I weigh 200 lbs, I went down to 175 and started getting skinnier, then i started lifting weights and running and i gained back all the pounds!!! What is going on here?!?!?! I am so confused, I don't look that fat at all, I can still fit into my clothes just fine, does anyone have an explanation as to why i gained back the weight? Scary part is I can't seem to lose weight now and i've been lifting weights and doing situps and running like crazy! What is wrong with me??? lol.

If you don't look fat, then you probably AREN'T FAT! :)

Muscle is denser then fat, which means it weights more but takes up less space, meaning a leaner you. Muscle also burns calories, even at rest, due to the minute involuntary contractions they do to keep themselves toned while you aren't using them.

Don't worry so much about the weight. If you are bent on finding out if you are "fat" or not, then have a body fat index test done. Some of the methods used are an electrical resistance test, float test, "pinch caliper test" of the fat on the back of your arm or another area, or neck/waist measurements. None of the methods is perfect, but it'll help give you an indication of what your muscle to fat ratio is.

My take is, if you don't look fat, then you're not fat. Muscle mass is great--don't obsess about pounds.

If you're a female, then yes you're fat.

nothings wrong with u!! ure perfectly normal!..but u probably just gained muscle weight since muscle is more than fat in weight

You worked out so you put muscle on, muscle weighs more than fat.
It doesn't really matter too much about how much you weight it matters more about how much fat you have, and you say you feel thin so that's obviously not a problem.

There's a difference between losing fat/waist-inches and losing weight. Weight is just a number and is made up of muscle, fat, and all that other stuff. You lost 25 pounds of fat and also lost waist-inches. However, all the weight training gave you muscle weight. Nothing to worry about. =)

Not bad, but exercise at least half an hour every day, 8 hours of sleep, drink 2 liters of water every day, plenty of fruit juices,
and I'm sure you'll look amazing in 2 to 4 weeks

Size 12-13 jeans? Thats kinda big...I have to wear all spandex/workout pants because size 0 jeans are too big on me

Don't worry sweetie! You gained muscle which is a lot more mass than fat..so good work! Keep it up.

you need to lose 70lbs, 200lbs is the weight of an elephant
