I think you are not thinking about it in the right way....the question should be... ARE YOU worth forty dollars a month...and is your Health Worth forty dollars..and the answer is...ABSOLUTELY!!

Just make sure you use it every day, and then think of it as worth a lot more than less than a dollar a day!
Not really if you can find time to do the same activities for free. Yeah, sure it's nice to play and run indoors when the weather is bad. Do the math, it's a lot of money a year for a membership. I have my own home-gym machines, work out 3 times a week, and play basketball and football on the weekends. Why spend the money if you don't need to?
