What size should the portion be if you eat atleast 5-6 times a day?!


Question: a good general ratio to live by is:
55% of calories from complex carbohydrates
35% of calories from lean protein
15% of calories from good fats

How many calories you need to consume per meal 5-6 times per day is directly related to a few factors which make it almost impossible to answer on here.
1) How old are you and what sex are you?
2) How active are you? (there's a rating scale, be very honest)
3) How much do you weigh?
4) What is you body fat %?

From that it will tell you your daily caloric intake to maintain your current weight. If you want to gain weight add 10%-20% onto that figure. If you want to lose weight subtract 10%-20%. The more you subtract from that, the more muscle you will be losing and thus defeating the purpose.

To figure out how much you should be eating at each meal, divide that number by the number of meals.

depends on your caloric intake...typicaly the norm is a serving size (without whipping out the calculator and doing your needs and ratios). meat is usualy the size of your open palm. theres a certain ratio you need to figure in here, maybe someone else has it..sorry

in general- not bigger than 1lbs or about the size of a fist. In calories - 200-500cal. (e.g. a bowl of cereal with milk or 4oz of meat and 1-2 cups of veggies or an apple slices with 1lbs of peanut butter)
