Weight lifting 14 year old?!


Question: I have just turned 14 and im about 5 , 5" and 8 kg and i have got a home gym and do some bench press ,leg press ,barbell curl , and lat bar, however im not sure what weights to do or how many reps and sets i should do to get a result. I basicly want to build more muscle as i race cars .and also do protein sticks work?

if you can afford all that machinery you can afford a personal trainer for a week.

andreu is a girlyman, dont worry about him. there are tons of websites out there that answer these questions.

ur still pretty young so u shouldnt b worried about building bulky muscles yet because it isnt healthy 2 do that when ur still growing a lot (it puts a lot of stress on ur muscles). what u should focus on right now is getting proper form and doing a good amount of reps. some1 ur age should b doing about 3-4 sets of each exercise and do 10-12 reps. u will get stronger but ur muscles wont get 2 bulky yet. once u stop growing or ur growth slows down u can start doing sets of 6-8 reps with heavier weight on there. u have 2 remember 2 let ur body reach its fully potential on its own and then try 2 add 2 it

first of all a 14 year old should not be using weights...
protein bars work but they should only be used with a complete diet, NOT as a substitute.
if you really want to gain muscle mass try doing isometric exercises which use your own body weight. pushups situps pullups etc. Finally, you are still growing, and weight lifting at such a young age puts a lot of strain on your bones and ligaments too. This could stunt your growth.
