How do i choose what multivitamins to take?!

Question: i'm 22 year old male and i want to start taking vitamins. Is it bad to take one everyday? Do you have any recommendations on what type I should take? What brand? I also want to take calcium pills or something 'cause i rarely drink milk. Would it be bad to take calcium as well as multivitamins together?

Take a multivitamin that provides more than 50% RDI on each mineral and vitamin and that includes the most vitamins and minerals. Some multivitamins provide 10 vits and minerals while some provide 30 vits and minerals. This would be on the list at the back of the bottle. I would go with the one which provides the longer list and that has higher percentages on the RDI.

I wouldn't supplement with extra calcium if you are taking a multivitamin because you also get calcium from cheese, yogurt, and ice cream. If you get too much calcium it will interfere with the absorption of zinc, iron, and magnesium into your body, and it may cause kidney stones. So just the multivitamin should do it. Good luck!

u can get multivitamins that have calcium in them u can go to any place with a lot of vitamins and tell them wat u think u need and stuff like that and they can help u find somehting good for u

I remember that I heard once (but never looked into it) that one-a-day vitamins are the only kind that actually have in them what they say they do, so thats the kind that i chose. if you look in the ingredients, and it says that it has 100% dv of calcium, then you really shouldnt need to take both. i'm sure that any pharmacist would be able to help you out though, so when you go to get some, just ask whoever is working, they'll steer you in the right direction.
