It helps to put a note in your pocket, saying the reasons you want to quit, then when you reach for a cigarette you can read the reasons instead.

Also Fruit Juice is suppose to be good to drink while quitting.
Tell people you are quitting
go to places you aren't allowed to smoke
be proud the days you don't smoke
quit for others and yourself
take it day by day

masturbate when you want to smoke

just keep yourself busy for the day and after a few day of being busy you'll notice that you no later need one it worked for me

will power, good luck my friend.....hope you have better luck than me..........

Mkay, smoking is bad.
For every cigarette you smoke an orphan will be tortured to death by means of excessive eye gouging by long manicured nails. Will that stop you from lighting up?

I quit cold turkey
for me, that's what worked best. But for others that can make it even harder. I took some time away from friends that DO smoke. so i wasnt around it, also if your friends are true friends, they wouldnt light up around you. I was so bad I finished a pack a day. and now a year later, I havn't smoked since. :] it's the best feeling to quit too. You're in control and your body feels much healthier trust me. good luck

Try Chantix. I'm taking it and so far my cravings have gone away. I've asked quite a few people about it and they have quit within a month. You do have nausea at first and real vivid dreams but if you really want to quit, stick it out, its not that bad.

you are a winner too many people die from sucking on a cig, why the hell do they pay to kill them selfs....think if you die from smoking what effect it will have on your family

good luck love kitti louise xxx

Your doctor will be the person who can help you most.

You can buy nicotine patches, but if that isn't for you, there are various other ways of aid like gums and nasal sprays.

good for you! but i never started smoking so idk how to quit all i can say is if you really wanna quit you have to stick with the plan and not give in.

my answer is it will help so yes u should

Smoking is very additive. And it is not just for the nicotine, there are many other chemicals used to make cigarettes. Best advice is to just quit and never smoke again. You might be a bit crazy for a few weeks as you body adjusts, but the best advice is just quit.

its all in the head . its all controlled buy chemicals including need of nicoteen but again you brain tell you that you need it you can tell your self i dont need it over anf over and it helps

keep in mind you have to be strong set a goal for you self that you will quit on that day and be happy on the day knowing what you done is not easy and your are brave for doing it.after a week of not touching a c?geret you will fell so much beter mentaly phsicly and many other ways i cant explain also you will realise you can achive any thing

Just dont do it. Every time you want a cigarette, stick your finger in an electrical socket. Or just use good old fashioned 'will power' and for the love of God, stop being a whiney fuggler over it.

Good luck, do it for yourself.

why boxing day do it now !

What helped me and my friend quit was a recording from Independent Achievement. We have been smoke free for 4 years now because of it. No cravings. And it was really the right thing to do. Now I feel so healthy, and I exercise and feel alive. Nothing like a healthy body!.

I gave up at the end of January this year so have nearly made it to a year. I tried a few times before I succeeded. My tip is just take one day at a time. Each day that you get through without a ciggie is a massive achievement and one step closer to achieving your goal. Imagine that each day your body is ridding itself of the toxins and just one puff of a ciggie will put you back to where you started. After I gave up for 8 weeks, I paid for a private medical test with BUPA and asked my doctor for a chest XRay which he kindly agreed to - luckily after 20 years of pretty heavy smoking I hadn't done any damage - I felt like I had been given a second chance and that spurred me on. I HATE the smell now - and when I look at people freezing to death outside a pub or club just to have a ciggie I feel glad that it is not me having to do this. Giving up smoking is really really hard - I had some horrible withdrawals symptons - particularly anxiety and just feeling really uptight. I honestly think that if I had a ciggie now I would throw up or faint but bizzarely, I still do get the odd craving. Finally, watch yourself smoke your last ciggie in the mirror - imagine for the last time all the chemicals you are inhaling, the damage to your skin, the smell the taste and keep telling yourself that this is the last one. Then, remove all ashtrays and cigarettes from your house. Then, simply do not buy any more. Good luck.

Drink plenty of water and eat really healthy food as it will add to the positive vibe that your body is cleansing itself and it will stop you going back to the bad habit.
I gave up 3 years ago now. It was hard for the first couple of months but now I feel that my skin is more vibrant, and that I have a better glow about me. I get sick a lot less than I used to and although the effects don't appear to be immediate looking back there is a big difference.
Good luck!!!!!!!

Thats very good of you.
Where will the government get the tax money that you won't be giving them tho?
Think of the Prime Minister naked evertime you wanna smoke. After all you're taking away his clothing allowance. Ell, in two weeks you'll have him outa his sox.

I quit almost five years ago. The important thing to remember is to take ONE day at a time. Once you get through the first few weeks, you have it made. When you think you might want to return to smoking, just think of all you went through to get to that point. Good luck.

mellyg whats your number

Like Des says "Why Boxing Day" Do it Today
As a smoker you can always find an excuse to go "Just another Day"
So do it Today be strong you CAN do it
I am starting my 8th week as a non smoker (thats after 50 years a slave to the ciggies)

And like I have said in many answers if in doubt "Open a tin of Beans"

Best of luck for TOMORROW
