Bicycling is a good aerobic exercise, making sure you get your heart rate up to the target zone. In my opinion drug free cyclists are some of the best athletes around.

By my calculations you burn approx 25-30 calories per mile. So if you can ride ten to 15 miles per hour then you can burn 250-450 calories per hour.

One pound is 3500 calories.

you have to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 pound of fat, so if you burned 500 calories a day, you'd end up losing 1 pound per week because 7x500=3500. riding a bicycle is good because its a form of cardio. however, it doesn't burn a lot of calories. treadmill and elliptical are the best when it comes to losing weight, the bicycle, not so much.

If you ride a bike everyday, you will lose weight. I don't know the answers to all your questions.
