How to????!
Question: Around the holidays it's typical to gain weight, right?
But what is the best way to not overeat, eat healthier, lose the extra weight, etc.
I heard the average American gains 7 lbs., is that right? Also, does it take a long time to burn off the extra weight?

I can give you some advice, but I do not know how long it takes to burn off the extra weight. I think it all depends on how active you are and how fast your body burns caleries.
I think the best way not to over eat it to try to snack on some healthy foods so you are not starving when it is time to eat. Healthy foods are veggies( no dip), saleds, things like that. Also try to be mindfull of what you are eating, using a smaller plate can make you think you are eating more then you are, and drinking lots of water helps you to feel full. Stay away from high fat stuff like cream chesse, eggnog and things like that. And last but not least, don't stress to much. Have a good time, enjoy your self and you famley, they are the most importent thing.
just dont eat as much and do more physical activities
Stay away from the Christmas cookies! People are pushing sweets at you from every direction. Just stick you your normal foods, stay away from the sweets and just tell everyone, that yes they do look yummy, but I'm diabetic, so why are you trying to KILL ME!
