To lose weight, you must eat healthy, and exercise well.
Eating healthy isn't eating at all. You still need SOME meat for protein. Don't eat as much of it, though because it does have a lot of fat. Maybe for breakfast you can have whole grain oat cereal, or oatmeal, and for lunch, you can have salads, or vegetable sandwiches on whole wheat bread. For dinner, you could have, well... It is up to you. Remember to eat healthy ONLY, and cut off on the candy. No, you should not eat a cookie for lunch. You should pack your lunch. A sandwich on whole grain bread! And maybe if you need more than that, a banana, or apple, or a cheese stick. Oh yes, and start eating whole grain pasta instead of white pasta. They sell them at the store, and the only come in the long pasta, or the short curly pasta. Don't eat as much butter either. Maybe if you are having toast (on whole grain bread!) instead of butter you can have coconut oil. It is a oil like butter, and it is a lot better than butter, AND better for you. It isn't as salty though, so just spread some coconut oil on the bread, and add a little salt.
Oh yes, and NO dessert. And the only liquid you can have is water. =]
I know it sounds very strict, but you will feel a lot better.
Remember, get an hour of exercise daily! I would prefer, if you are trying to get rid of fat on the legs, and do some toning, you should focus more on some leg exercises. If you have On Demand on your TV, go to Sports&Fitness, then go to Exercise TV, then just browse around and see if you can find anything that would fit you, and would be good for you to work out with that routine. =]

Follow these rules and you will both feel and look better! =]

PS. If you start eating healthy, it will REALLY help, because most of the fat that you do eat, gos to your hips, and thighs.
Good Luck! <3 Livii

By the way...How tall are you??
When I was 10, I was 94 lbs, and I was active and at a healthy weight. So please tell how tall you are.

beats me.It helped me.

Try cutting your calories to like 600 a day. For a few months.

You have to remember that sometimes what looks like fat is in fact the shape of the muscles beneath the skin. If you want to lose weight you can probably guess that eating cookies may not be the smartest thing to do.

Exercise and eating healthily will enable you to get in the best possible shape.

Good luck.

because you are not following a proper diet there is a difference in between fat and toned i look like i have fat but when i squeeze my legs that are hard and tight that is toned i would suggest to buy you someting to eat and love your body no matter what because guys like big thighs anyway and gurl you better eat that meat because i know that you miss eat

how about trying to consult a real dietitian... they would certainly help...

Don't worry about apperance. You look good the way you are.

Just one website that gives suggestions of exercises focusing on your legs. Get yourself into a nightly routine before you go to bed involving them, and choose to walk more places instead of getting buses, lifts from friends etc. Don't stop eating as it doesn't help, your metabolism will slow down even more and when you do eat, you'll want to eat loads! Stick to a healthy diet, which does include meat (just cut off fat and don't grill it instead of frying etc) and eventually it should go. It will take persistence and willpower, it won't happen over night. Good luck :)

Get very active. Do not buy a cookie bring your lunch. If you are eating salads watch how much dressing you put on if you are using a lot of dressing you can add as many as 500 calories which is defeating the purpose. Do not put butter on your be veggies. You did not say if you are overweight all over or just your thighs. I do not know how old you are which makes a difference in the amount of calories you need to lose weight. Get a good calorie book and if you are young and still growing eat about 1500 a day if older cut it down to 1200. You need to weigh and measure everything. If you can go to a nutritionist that would help a lot.

you need to think about what food groups you are eating. you can't just cut one of them out and think it will solve all of your problems. you would be better off to get something, even if it had meat in it, then you for the cookie alternative. do a bit of research on proper dieting before creating your own.

Don't limit yourself to only 600 calories...that is way too low! I would go to your doctor and tell them about your concerns.

Eating a balanced diet and exercising is the best way to live a healthy life. Here is what I found to give you some ideas of what should be included in your diet...and of course a cookie is ok every once and awhile but not for lunch only!

Milk group (milk and milk products)
milk, cheese, yogurt
Meat group (meat and meat substitutes)
meat: chicken, fish, beef, and pork
legumes: beans and peas
nuts and seeds

Fruit and vegetable group
fruits
vegetables

Grain group (breads and cereals)
whole grain breads
enriched breads
rice
pasta

Stay Healthy!

If you straighten your legs and it's hard, not like jelly, then it's all just muscle, babes.

To get rid of it if it's fat then you should go for "long" walks every day, a mile isn't very long but not many people walk that far. This will help turn all your fat in your legs into muscle but it takes a few weeks.

I don't know if being a begetarian has helped, not that there's anything I have against it but you should make sure you're still getting all the protein you need (protein= muscle build+growth+repair and those are vital to a person at any age! but especia;;y when you're young)

Hope thsi helps!:P

Hi

Just a note, becoming a vegetarian wont give you more energy, it wont give you less but definitely not more keep in mind that meat especially red is a high source of proteins essential in dispensing energy and building muscle therefore burning fat.

My suggestion would be if you choose to stay vegetarian that yes do bring food you need to keep a constant source of food intake going on throughout the day otherwise your metabolism slows down and even that cookie just hits your thighs! Your metabolism is like a motor keep it well fuelled and it will run well don't fuel it and it just stops.(well slows down severely)

Now to the legs..I would spend 30minutes 4 days a week focusing on leg workouts, I would include lunges / leg lifts / squats / as well as spend a good 30 mins taking a fast paced walk (slow jog if you feel comfortable) but keep it consistent.

If you are able to ditch this vego diet then I would highly recommend trying to ditch carbs and add protein to your diet as well as increase your fibre intake. try eating at least 5-6 times a day (fist sized meals) and eat not later then 6-7pm.

Remember that peoples genes determine a lot so don't be disappointed if you don't have an instant result. Some people need to work harder at it but the results are well worth it.

hope it helps

i would stop eatting sugar thats what i did when i wanted 2 lose some fat now I'm 110 pds because i stopped eatting alot of sugar you could also pack good food not fatting food u could cut back the eatting 2 only 3 times a day dont eat popcorn or grease food dont drink soda drink water and dont eat after 9 because it will stay in your stomach and its turns into fat. u can also walk and ride bikes to work on your legs
