I'm trying to lose weight, and do light lifting/tone up does this routine an!

Question: I lift weights 5 times a week. I do light weights high reps, work out a body part once a day individually about three exercise per each part. on top of that I run 45-60 min. after I lift weights.
My diet is 6-8 meals a day... I eat egg whites, oatmeal, veggies, fruits, tuna, chicken, and My caloric intake is about 2600 a day.
I am 220 lbs, 6feet.
I have been doing this for 2 and a half months and lost 15 lbs(which doesn't seem like a lot)
Does this look like I am on the right track, does anyone have any suggestions.

You're doing a great job! Actually, 15lbs in two months is a lot. Plus, don't go by numbers on the scales - they are deceiving. Since, muscles weigh more than fat, you may even think that you're gaining weight even though, in reality, you're toning up your body. So continue your healthy living and make sure you incorporate more of complex carbs (such as beans, whole-wheat pasta, whole wheat bread- etc.), and drink lots of liquid. Good luck!

i think 6-8 meals is a bit high but the food you eat sounds healthy for you, so i see no problems. to tone up, try doing more weight and less reps. that's supposed to be better for you =]. all of the excerise sounds pretty good to me though. it sounds like you are doing things right, keep it up. good luck.

My husband did the body for life program (by bill phillips) and lost a crap load of weight while doing less than what you are doing. You are on the right track, but you have to be careful to not burn yourself out, then you will quit all together and get nothing accomplished. Needless to say, he dropped like a whole person in 12 weeks and placed as a finalist in the body for life contest in 2003. It's a good program, you should check out the website. Good luck!

You need to give your muscles a 24 hr. rest between weight lifting sessions. Exercise the top half of your body say, Monday, Wed. and Friday, and work your bottom half Tus. and Thurs. 2600 cal. is pretty high. You are going to want to gradually reduce your calorie intake until you reach your required amount. Here is a site you can check out to find how many calories you need to consume to maintain your weight, and how many less you need to lose weight. http://www.inch-aweigh.com/dcn.php

Lifting weights combined with a high protein diet will make your weight increase (more muscles) but you say you want to lose weight.... I would rather run more and lift less, if you want to burn fat you should run at least 60 minutes at a heartrate between 60 and 70% of your maximum heartrate. If you lost 7,5 Kg in 2 and half months is more than good, however you should focus on losing fat and not water, and maintain your muscles.
Eat high protein low carbohydrate diet... try to eat only foods with low glycemic index.
