How does yoga help you physically?!

Yoga will help with upper body strength. There are many poses that require you build upper body strength. Plank pose comes to mind first.
Yoga also aids in flexibility, and longer muscles are stronger muscles.
My yogi will contradict this next statement, but I will share it anyway, Yoga is only one piece of a fitness plan. To get the toned body you want, you must also include cardio and weightlifting in your plan.
And there is only one way to lose weight, burn more calories then you take in. A well rounded diet and exercise plan will accomplish your goal.
