Hi there!
I was in the exact same situation as you were when I was fourteen. I lost 35 pounds safely and steadily, here's how I did it:

*Avoid greasy foods.
Those french fries, potato chips, Chinese food, anything that is greasy is the WORST for you, since it pretty much stays in you.

*Drink PLENTY of water
I reccomend about six eight ounce cups of this clear liquid a day. It helps drain your body of the grease that is inside the body, and helps improve skin and overall health. I also suffered from acne and acne scars, and water helped me get rid of it all.

*Exercise
Stationary bikes (the kind that stay in your home and you use your arms and legs to operate) are one of the best exercise machines for burning fat and building muscle. Use this for 30 minutes a day, at least three times a week and you'll see muscle. If a stationary bike is not available, jogging or regular biking works well too. Push ups are a GREAT way to help build muscle in the arm.

*What to eat
Eat your meals as you normally would, just maybe cut down on the bread, or pass on the salt, use lowfat mayo, if you have the option to have it GRILLED instead of FRIED always take the GRILLED option. Chicken and meat are also very helpful in helping you build muscle, and don't forget an eight ounce class of low fat or skim milk a day! Try to limit your junk food intake, but sweets are ok once a week, just try not to overdo it. I find that those Oreo 100 calorie packs are a great way to control a sweet tooth.

* Have Confidence and only weigh yourself once a week first thing in the morning. Also, if the scale doesn't seem to budge at first, and as long as your're doing everything specified, remeber, muscle weighs more than fat. You WILL see results within a couple of weeks.

I did all of these things as listed above and found myself safely and effectively loosing 35 pounds and gaining muscle, when I was 14. I myself have an extremly slow metabolism, so if this worked for me I know it will work for you!

Good Luck!

run, sit ups, just exersise alot..
and watch what you eat

eat a shitload of protein bas

160 is not the proper weight for a 14 year old, respectively. try doing push ups and crunches and eating healthy foods. you can also jog around your neighborhood early in the morning. if there's a local gym in your area, apply for membership along with someone who is 18yrs or older, depending on the rules of the gym. whatever you do, don't take diet pills.

You should lift weights

your gaining muscles and muscles burn up the calories. So you will lose weight

Ok firstly :

1) WHAT type of friends AND DOCTORS tell their friends/patients to lose weight ??
160 lbs is just over 11 stones, not 15 like me or something !

2) Maybe lose 10-20 lbs by eating healthier, and excersising more, it will take you about 2 months, but be patient :)
Dont try those fad diets xx

Good luck :)

Arms:
push ups
lift weights
ballet (tones arms because of holding them in the air so long)
maybe even just practicing arm wrestling will tone you

stomach:
crunches
leg lifts
sit ups
stomach isolation (belly dance)
