Am i Am i too big??!


Question: I'm 13 years old and i weigh 160 pounds...im really scared, my mom tells me im really fat but im skinny..it makes me sad, then there are people who say by the time im 16 years old i will be beautiful, i listen to those but my mom keeps talking about my weight=[ is there any thing i can do to lose weight...please help me

Okay, your mom should not be talking to you like that and I can understand why that would hurt your feelings. When she does that, leave the room. She may be your mom but you don't have to listen to it. Yell, "stop verbally abusing me, mom!" The goal should be for you to be healthy, not skinny. What you and YOUR MOM need to do is start shopping healthier at the grocery store. Buying fruits and vegetables, making dinner from scratch at home (no frozen meals), using low fat recipes, and only going out to eat once a week. No Fast Food, ever. Stay away from sugar except in fruit. There are tons of healthy cookbooks out there. This is much your mom's responsibility as it is yours. She's the one who does the shopping and decides what you eat. She needs to stop putting you down and start helping. Then, you need to start exercising everyday for a least an hour. I suggest you start out by walking. Bundle up, take a friend, and get out there. Walk fast, not slow. Then eventually, work up to running or some kind of exercise you like to do. Whatever it is make sure you have fun doing it and do it everyday. Don't be sad! Be happy with who you are no matter what your size! Look at Queen Latifa! She doesn't let her size get her down. Take this as a challenge and show your mom what you can do! Get healthy!

You may be a little chubby but I would not say really fat or even fat. You mom needs to lay off before she gives you a complex or an eating disorder.

If you're 6.0 ft tall than your weight is adequate but to lose weight you have to diet, exercise and weight control program and good luck with your mom.

First of all if you weigh 160 you're NOT skinny. Your mom is right you're really fat! Listen to your mom not those idiots that predict that somehow you are going to be beautiful at 16. If you do listen them you'll be a fat, fat 16 year old in three years.
