Is this an unhealthy diet?!


Question: I eat 2 meals (lunch and dinner) a day and I have lots of snacks. (I'm working on getting up earlier so I can eat breakfast, so don't tell me I need to eat breakfast) and usually 1 or both of those meals is a salad, because I don't eat most kinds of meat. People tell me I need more protein, but I thought salads were healthy for you. I"m at an OK weight and stuff, so I don't see why this is bad.

It's already good to be worried about HEALTH not weight at your age =)
And as people say,you do need more protein,plase dont go vegetarian till you're at least 18.If you dont like meat,why dont you have chicken nuggets,or lean chicken slices in a wholewheat sandwich to vary a bit or nuts have protein too,for breakfast have peanut butter spread on a brown bread slice or a boiled egg is good and packed with protein!
If you just eat salad you'll regret it cause your body wont grow and develop fully without nutrients like protein,but as you say that its not weight that worries you,maybe you just like hte taste of salad,and of course you can have some,just be sure to add ANY form of protein you like! =)

Take vitamins in the morning to contribute to your diet and then you will be healthier.

A balanced diet is what is healthy. Salads are part of a healthy diet. But you did ask, so even if you don't like the answer: breakfast should be your biggest meal of the day. Sorry, but it is true.

If you are 12 year old girl, you should perform this in consultation with parent.

You can try eating tofu... I think that can satisfy the protein you need a little bit... not sure about this one though.

try it for two weeks to see if you will gain or lose.
then you can judge if it is good or not.

that is not a bad diet but u do need lots of protein and stuff so i suggest u try stuff like meat and stuff. u can also try stuff from the food pyramid. not so much for a twelve year old girl u dont wanna be anerexic like nicole riche [[inside joke]]

You probably have already heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Dairy foods have a lot of protein. Do you like cheese and yogurt? Try adding that to your intake. Salads are great, but watch out for some of the dressings. They contain lots of fat. Eat fresh fruit too.
