yes--but treadmills or boflex (or a cheap version of a boflex) are better. but remember to stretch first--that means touch your toes and do 15 jumping jacks before treadmill or boflex.

no. the most effective form of weight loss is running combined with a high protein diet. if you want to lose weight(and fast) i would recommend running 4-6 times a week above your target heart-rate and a protein rich diet.
