It sucks being overweight doesn't it? I used to weigh over 300 pounds. I considered doing the lap band system and have met several people who have been very successful with it.
I lost over 120 pounds the old fashioned way with diet and exercise. You'd think that the lap band or laproscopic surgerys would be effortless weight loss, but from what I have heard from my friend who has gone done it, it is not.
The size of your stomach will be drastically smaller and the danger of this includes not being able to control yourself to eat smaller meals. If you eat too much, your body will eject it right back up. But, you also will have to eat smaller meals more often in order to get the proper nutrition that you need. You still have to change your diet and lifestyle with the surgery option.
In addition to this you also have the risk of infection or improper placement of your band. Please talk to your doctor and research this fully before proceeding. You are not that much overweight. It might be more beneficial for you and your family to join a group like weight watchers that will teach you proper eating habits and portion control.
Good luck to you!

Have you tried to lose weight on your own? I think if you step away from the computer and put down the doritos you should drop a good 60 pounds.

get the lap band since those are adjustable and removable.....to many scary outcome possibilities from gastric bypass....strictures and whatnot, u.ll have reduced absorption abilities.....increased rate of malnutrition....but i wish you luck on your weight loss journey

There is pros, and cons in everything! I drink alot of greentea.Walk alot. Exercise when I can. At 205...I am considered overweight for my height..(6ft) I seen this cool infomercial that a retired NAVY SEAL came up with...it is a push up exercise thing that twist's when you do the push up!!!!
