100% Whey Protein Question.?!


Question: If im counting calories daily for the purpose of trying to lose weight, and along with my daily meals i have that 100% whey protin shake, should i count those calories too?

I thought that since the protein was so healthy for me that i didnt necessarily need to count the calories, But I dont know, Someone help me out here please.

You need to count ALL calories that you eat. Just because a food is healthy doesn't mean you can't gain weight from it. Healthy and weight loss are related but they are not the same. You can gain weight from protein powder just like you can gain weight from carbs or fat.

Keep in mind that protein powder was designed to help people gain weight. When you drink a 300 calorie protein shake, it gets digested very quickly. You'll be hungrier a lot quicker than if you had eaten 300 calories of whole food. I wouldn't recommend protein shakes for people who are trying to lose weight.

Calories are calories and you should count them, how ever if you are doing the protein shake to lose weight then you are already lowering your caloric intake a lot. A good sorce of protein also is soy protein.
I use herbalife and it has worked wonders for me in fact I never need to count calories because I know that with each shake I am getting about 300 calories, but I get the nutrtional equivilant of a 2000 calorie meal.
