Who thinks that the whole world will be really fat in 20 years?!

Question: I think it will be the opposite. It's definately an issue today, but I think because it's such a big issue that we are rethinking what we eat and are exercising more. I see this with kids too. I mean even McDonald's has healthier choices, KFC and Dunkin Donuts don't use transfat anymore, and legally, transfats can not be put into food anymore starting the first of the new year. Believe it or not, transfat is one of the main reasons for obeseity -- unlike real fat, transfat can not be burned off the body no matter how much exercising you do. I think we are finally headed in the right direction.

In America a pessimist would, in developing countries in Africa its safe to say that that is a very optimistic prediction.
I do believe though that American are starting to eat healthier and are exercising more than the last generation.

It may be a bigger hoax than global warming, but I have heard that by about 2050 we will have to double the world's food production. We may not have enough groceries for everybody to get fat.

You will always have fat people everywhere. But I will say more so in America since we have so much food ready to be eaten. There will always be a good number of fat people but it will pretty much stay the same. You will always have a lot of people work out and watch what they eat. It's just up to the individual's in the future no one forces people to eat bad. So with that said I don't think the world will be fat in 20 years.

A lot of issues that might be fix by the medical feild actually may reduce the number of fat people. Depression can cause people to eat, thyroid problems, ect. disordered like these may be fix in the future. Who knows after all we can kill a person, fix them up, and bring them back heathier than ever. (heart transplant)

I have a comment for the person that said the fast food "healthy choices". They are much more expenisive. You think teenagers will pay $5 for a salad when they can get full off 2 double cheeseburgers for $2?????
Same in household cooking healthy choices are more money.

As for not having enough food to go around in 2050 I doubt that. There are still many places that we can destory and process food at. But when we do run out food will be so expensive! Only rich people could afford to be fat!
