Wait until next year and you will get a great offer. Gym's usually offer special deals in the beginning of the year.

well it really depends on what the offer. If it is strictly a work out place with a pool weights areobics etc i would say 225.00

It depends on the type of gym and the type of membership you select. If you decide to join a gym with all the works(tv screens on every cardio machine, open 24 hours, sauna, pool, etc), like, Xsport fitness, you could pay any from 300 and up annually for a membership. Try catching them when they are having special rates, like Bally.

As other users have commented it varies. It depends on if the gym is a chain or its just a local place. It also depends on what the gym offers. Is it just the basics with some machines and free weights and little else or is this a gym that is open 24/7 with a pool and sauna as well as tons of classes and personal trainer services etc. It also depends what part of the country your in too, a gym membership in NYC might be a bit pricier then one in a southern state for example. I would suggest you make a list of what your looking for in a gym and then start shopping around. I personally prefer the local non-chain gym, sure its smaller and a little pricier but I really like the facility and staff. Just remember where you go that you should try to get a discount (if you work for a big company, are a student, are a senior citizen etc.) most gyms have discounts for all different type of members. And only get a membership with services that you will use, if you know your not going to use the tanning beds and free towels then don't pay for a premium membership with those services when the basic package will do. Lastly, only go with a gym that you feel comfortable with and know that you will want to go back to regularly.
