Ab Endurance?!


Question: I am trying to get my abs in perfect or better shape then they are in now. I have seen and heard that when you crunch, you can punch them to kind of "beat" them into shape. Is that a good trick for improving your abs? How many times should I punch them and where, all around my abs?

That's the craziest thing I've ever heard of. The only thing that will happen is you'll bruise the top layer of muscle then you won't be able to do a crunch. Build them with many type of movements, they will show when your diet is right.

Punching your abs is a stupid myth. Don't do it- the most you'll get out of it is bruises. Remember that your abs work like an accordion, not a hinge. Focus on the compression and add weight as necessary to get the ridges you want.

That isn't really a good way to go about it. You are better off flexing them and doing what are generally referred to as vacuums to really make them stand out...and as always, the number one way to improve their (abs) visibility is by combining your workout with good cardio and proper diet.

Ahhh dont be punching anything let someone with soft hands rub em for you..that would feel better than a punch anyday.
