If I were to run/walk off 150 calories a day would that be sufficient exercise t!

Question: I am also eating pretty balanced, more veggies than meat or starches (rice, bread) and no junk or fast foods, sodas, candy things like that, light on dairy too. I don't have health insurance right now so I can't ask a doctor, but I would appreciate it if anyone could help me out. Thanks

It takes about 3500 calories to burn off 1 pound. So if you cut 150 calories a day then in theory you would lose a pound every 23 days. If you are also watching what you are eating than your actual caloric intake should be reduced by atleast a few hundred more. Lets say you cut 400 calories a day. This would enable you to lose a pound evey 9 days. Thats a good pace. The maximum amount most nutritionists recommend is upto 10 a month. I think that is too much though, just take your time and dont expect to lose all of it over night! Good Luck. -Alan

no... deff not

Sorry, but 150 calories is nothing. If you're eating what you listed, then you're probably fine with that diet.

150 is nothing. just dancing for an hour burns 300 calories

the main thing is, when losing weight, it's like a balance. the calories out must be greater than the calories in. Sounds like you're eating a pretty good diet, so exercise a little more at a higher intensity and you should be on the write track. lift some weights too.

You can burn 150 calories jogging in like 10 minutes. Its best to work out for around 30 minutes.

yeah it's definitely enough, paired with the fact that you are eating healthy. I would say find other ways to burn off calories too. like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking doing like 10-25 jumping jacks at any given time of the day...small things like that will help too. Also, after a few weeks, you will need to burn more calories to keep on seeing the weight coming off.

just pick up your pace. when you walk, walk like you are in a hurry. all of the time. do quick stretches in the morning to loosen up all of your joints. drink lots of water and go in a suana twice a week if you can, this will release alot of the poisons in your body.

Yes im pretty sure even 100 calories is fine just as well as you keep at it every day, in fact i had a nutrition doctor tell me that its more about what you are doing its about counting and watching your calories than burning them. Yes you still have to excercise but from what she told me its more important to eat better than to excercise so i would try eating really good and working out just as much as you feel comfortable with. That was a problem ive had is i tried to work out more than what i really should be doing because i was losing motivation. (((( Remember only excercise for what you feel comfortable with doing. And also there is no bad way of starting. EXCERCISE IS SIMPLY EXCERCISE))) Hope this works ive had this problem myself.

A pound of body fat is 3500 calories. ( I just wanted to give you an idea of what is needed to burn off one pound).

Most important is you are watching your diet. That is a HUGE step in losing weight. Next you may want to gradually increase your exercise to lost weight quicker.

There are numerous websites that can give you the calories burned per hour on various forms of exercise.

Sounds like your doing well, but make sure you have enough dairy. Lowfat yogurt. Fat free is bad! Skim milk. Drink lots of H20. That will help you lose weight faster. Good Luck!

150 calories isn't bad. If you do that every day and eat really well you'll lose weight. Of course, the more calories you burn the better. I always found it easiest to go by time. I.e. go for a brisk walk for 40-60 min almost every day. Doing that and eating about 1250 calories a day helped me lose about 6-8 pounds a month.

i feel playing games like tennis or squash evryday might actually will surely help u a lot...........

through some research scientist have come to knoe that in 30mins of playing tennis or squash one can lose 270 calories in 30 mins

same way 30mins - swim - lose 200 cal

30mins - jogg ( not walk) - lose 150 cal

as per ur covinience u should jog........ i fell playing tennis or swimming are the best options.

A mile and a half walk isn't much exercise. 100 calories a mile approximately. If you take in less calories than you burn off then yes 150 calories a day would produce weight loss. It's about 3600 calories to the pound. a lot of days to walk for one pound.
