Weight training question?!


Question: it has been 4 days since i started weight training and cardio, and i gaind about 6 pounds i used to be 99 last week and now i'm 105. and i' ve been eating just as usual.isn't too fast.

You're adding muscle-mass, and muscle-mass IS heavier than adipose. You'll add a LOT of muscle-mass at the very begining, because you are working what little you had so much. Don't change the amount you're eating, you'll need that for those new muscles. I would recommend that you don't focus on heavy lifts with limited reps, but do more light lifts with higher reps, that will give your muscles definition and strength without bulking you up. It also burns more fat. Take my word for it, strength, definition, and endurance are what you really want, no guy wants to go to bed with "Charlene Atlas".

Your weight gain can't be just muscle from the weight training.
Maybe you are eating more than you think, or your weight is just fluctuating.

It is very unlikely that you would gain 6 pounds of muscle in one week. Like the other person said, are you sure you're eating the exact same?

You may have water retention. Drink more water to help your system flush itself (yes, MORE). Since you are now exercising, it's very important to keep yourself hydrated so your body can operate at its optimal level.

Also, check yourself in the mirror and the way your clothes fit. Are you seeing any new muscular definition? Do your clothes fit tighter around the stomach? (Gaining fat) Are they tighter around the muscles you've been training?
