How to eat healthy at a restraunt?!


Question: so im going to eat at the golden carrol today and its a chinese restraunt.my dad really wants to go so im going with him.how can i eat healthy there.also we probally arent going till about 3 pm should i eat before i go.or save my apetite

Ok, I love questions like these!

First of all, before you go, eat an apple or another piece of fruit. It will keep you from going crazy and eating tons of fries and other junk. Secondly, order water with your meal. Sodas make you crave more junk food.

And now to the food. Whatever you do, you probably shouldn't get fries with your meal. Try to get asian stir-fry veggies, noodles, and chicken. Stay away from all the fried foods, like fried shrimp.

Eat a light snack before that has fiber so you'll stay fuller longer (such as an apple w/ peanut butter). If it's a chinese buffet, stay away from the fried items such as egg rolls, wontons, general tso's chicken. Stick with chicken w/ veggies, brown rice, soup, lo mein and no chinese donuts eat oranges instead for dessert.

Chinese food, in general, if pretty healthy. If you want to eat super healthy, stay away from anything fried, the meats and anything with lots of MSG. Any of the vegetable dishes will be fine. Try the boch choy!

Snack a little so you aren't starving, otherwise you will just pig out when you are there.

In the buffet choose foods that are not deep fried. Stick with mostly veggies and steamed instead of fried rice. For dessert eat a fresh fruit, not the deep fried dumplings with sugar on them. If you do this then you shoud be ok. Oh, and drink water or tea, not soda.
