You could lose weight on a high-carb, low-calorie diet, but the problem is that you probably couldn't stay on that diet very long.

The problem is that carbs jerk your blood sugar around, give you highs and lows (ever feel like you have to take a nap after a high-carb lunch?) and in the end make you hungry for more.

Also, what happens when the diet ends and you go back to your old eating habits?

But the main problem is that "diets" simply do not work in the long run. Most people will in fact lose weight on a diet, but when the diet is over the weight comes right back on.

So forget "diets." Instead, focus on gradually changing your eating habits. With respect to carbs, to avoid jerking your blood sugar around by minimizing your consumption of visible carbs. For example, have soup or salad with your sandwich instead of french fries. Have a small scoop of mashed potatoes with dinner instead of the large scoop. Have a little rice with your chow mein instead of a big pile of rice. And so on. Many people find that limiting visible carbs alone results in weight loss because they aren't walking around hungry all the time.

Throughout most of human history deserts were reserved for special occasions. Today many people eat desert every day. When in comes to deserts eat the traditional way, and only have deserts on special occasions -- holidays, birthdays, and so on.

By changing your eating habits you aren't relying on an artificial diet to lose weight. Instead, you lose weight because you're eating sensibly.

The other thing is exercise. Exercise raises your base metabolic rate so that you tend to burn more calories even after the exercise is over. It also builds muscle, and muscle burns calories. With exercise you end up feeling better and more energetic so you become a more active and attractive person. You could burn 500 calories a day by simply exercising every day. Over a period of a week that adds up to a pound of fat; over a year that's 50 pounds of fat.

If you do these simple things you won't end up looking like a skeletal fashion model, but you will feel good, look good, be healthy, be at a reasonable weight, and have good habits that can last a lifetime. Best wishes.

I dont think so, just because carbs are a lot harder to lose than calories. You can go to the gym and lose calories, same with carbs but it will take a lot longer nd a harder work out.

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it (it's 100% natural). The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at http://trim-get.info where they have a free trial and you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling.
Good luck!

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product (all natural) which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website
